La Scena Musicale - Vol. 5.4 - December 1999
Opera galas: Two galas will give opera-lovers a chance to enjoy their favourite arias. On December 2nd, the 6th Gala Concert of the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques will present 16 singers from Canada, the U.S., Italy, and Croatia. The concert is the final round of a competition to give young singers internship and touring opportunities in Europe. Organized by the Théâtre Lyrichorégra 20, the program will also serve as the Canadian elimination for European competitions. 7:30 p.m., Salle Claude-Champagne. (514) 684-7287. Concurrently, Lyrichorégra 20 is organizing their 5e Rencontres musicales Czech et Slovak. At the Salon Adagio of the Delta Hotel Montreal, 475 President-Kennedy, a special exhibit devoted ot Czech composer Antonin Dvorak runs until December 8th (free admission).
