In ex.1, if you had just written ***Haydn: Sonata #54, it would look like the Locatelli was cancelled. Another way of answering would be ***the missing composer is ... or ***the pianist will be ...
However there are cases where there is no confusion possible. Ex. in the second listing, the address.

in all cases:

delete nothing so we know what to remove
label the listing to remove with the appropriate ***LABEL, as explained below.
put the *** LABEL at the top of the listing, touching it (i.e. not separated by a blank line, or else it will not be clear if it's labelling the preceding or following listing)

Don't just write ***REMOVE, because we want to know what happened, if the error was internal or external, or if it was not an error but a change, etc.; this might help us improve our procedure.
