The 'Way Back Machine is working to bring us to a Met "Jamboree" of 1953. The program (audio of a telecast) relies on the house singers of the era: Roberta Peters, Zinka Milanov, Lucine Amara, Richard Tucker, Mario Del Monaco, ... but you get the idea.

A friend has introduced me to another exceptional (and all but unknown) song cycle: Milhaud's "Alissa". The singer, Lise Arséguet, may be even less familiar, but I hope you find the songs and the singer extraordinary as I do.

The video selection is also in French: Chris Merritt singing "Pour mon âme" at the 1991 Richard Tucker concert.
