Kara Manning Joins WFUV's The Alternate Side

New York, NY -- Kara Manning has joined the team behind WFUV's The Alternate Side as Web Editor, Writer and On-Air Interviewer. Formerly a reporter for MTV News and a staff writer for Rolling Stone magazine, Kara is putting her access to many music industry sources to good use on TheAlternateSide.org blog, offering news, videos and scoops on bands like White Rabbits, Glasvegas and Radiohead. She looks forward to tackling her work at The Alternate Side, where she has already lined up interviews with Nitin Sawhney, the xx, Wild Beasts and more. Kara also spent nearly ten years as producer on Vin Scelsa's Idiot's Delight, where she says she learned "all that is good about music, smart interviews and the art of a meaningful segue." She is a graduate of Columbia University's M.F.A. program in playwriting and an accomplished playwright.

A companion to WFUV's highly acclaimed flagship programming, The Alternate Side provides New York City's burgeoning indie music scene with a full-time local radio outlet available at TheAlternateSide.org and on HD Radio at 90.7 FM HD-3 in the New York City area.
