Warner Music Canada Artists Claim 17 Nominations At The 2010 Juno Awards
At a press conference held today in Toronto, Warner Music Canada and its affiliated labels earned a total of 17 nominations for the 2010 JUNO Awards. The JUNO Awards will be handed out on Sunday, April 18, 2010 on a nationally televised show to be broadcast on CTV from St. Johns, NFLD.

Leading the pack of all nominees is Michael Bublˆ© with six nominations. His latest album, Crazy Love has become a world-wide phenomenon selling over 4.5 million copies since its release in mid-October. The single, ’ÄúHaven’Äôt Met You Yet’Äù topped Canada’Äôs AC radio charts for a staggering 20-plus weeks. His many TV appearances have lit up sets around the world and his performance of ’ÄúCry Me A River’Äù in front of the Sydney Opera House during the final episode of Australian Idol literally lit up Sydney Harbor with an extraordinary fireworks display. Isabel Bayrakdarian ’Äì Classical Album of the Year ’Äì Vocal or Choral Performance (Gomidas Songs)
Born in Lebanon of proud Armenian heritage, Isabel Bayrakdarian now calls Toronto home. She burst onto the international opera scene after winning first prize in the 2000 Operalia competition founded by Plˆ°cido Domingo. Since then she has performed in many of the world's major opera houses and concert halls. On her latest album, Gomidas Songs which examines the legacy of Gomidas Vardabet, the 19th-century composer who preserved, transcribed and interpreted the lullabies, hymns, folk dances and ancient songs of his Armenian homeland. This is Isabel’Äôs fifth Juno award nomination. She has won the Juno Award in this category the previous four times she was nominated
Tegan & Sara ’Äì Alternative Album of the Year (Sainthood)
Sainthood is the sixth full length album released by the Vancouver-based twins since their 1999 debut Under Feet Like Ours. Over the course of the past decade they have become one of the most celebrated and beloved forces in modern music. Sainthood was produced by Death Cab For Cutie’Äôs Chris Walla (who also produced the duo’Äôs 2007 critically acclaimed album The Con) and Howard Redakop (who produced their 2004 breakthrough, So Jealous). This is Tegan and Sara’Äôs third Juno Award nomination.
Finally, Warner Music Canada distributed Six Shooter recording artist Amelia Curran has received a Juno nomination for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year: Solo for her album Hunter, Hunter.
