La Scena Musicale is pleased to feature on its March 2010 cover Canadian conductor Keri-Lynn Wilson who will perform Verdi’Äôs Simon Boccanegra with the Opˆ©ra de Montrˆ©al in March. We also look back at the OdM’Äôs 30 years, as well as celebrate the 200th anniversary of Chopin’Äôs birth. Readers will also find articles on the recently passed-away composer Jacques Hˆ©tu as well as stories on Jean-Philippe Tremblay, Michael Colgrass, and Menahem Pressler. Our annual camp guide will feature camp listings as well as articles on arts camps. Other articles dig deep into the world of music education: we unveil the new Orford Festival Orchestral program and speak to leading music education experts Boris Brott and Joel Wapnick.

NEW Endowment Fund:
Our application for the matching program, Placement Culture, has formally been accepted: for every dollar donated to LSM/TMS, the Quˆ©bec government will contribute one dollar and fifty cents. Placement Culture is designed to create endowment funds for charitable arts groups like La Scene Musicale/The Music Scene. Our goal is to raise $100,000 until November 30, 2010, which combined with the government contribution, will create a $250,000 endowment. This will help us continue our magazines's excellence and innovation for years to come. We are therefore launching at this time our 2010 endowment fund campaign.
