The VSO's Kids Koncerts begin October 11

THE VSO’ÄôS SPECTRA ENERGY KIDS’Äô KONCERTS SERIES
The very best in musical entertainment for children and families

VANCOUVER, BC ’ÄìThe 5-concert Spectra Energy Kids’Äô Koncerts series begin on Sunday, October 11th. Kids’Äô Koncerts feature fun and educational concert presentations, designed for children from age four to eleven. It’Äôs a great family outing for kids, parents, and grandparents alike. Spectra Energy Kids’Äô Koncerts is a five-concert series with concerts taking place on Sundays, 2pm at the Orpheum Theatre.

One hour before each concert begins, the VSO Instrument Fair is held in the main lobby of the Orpheum Theatre. The VSO Instrument Fair allows music lovers of all ages to touch and play real orchestra instruments. An array of instruments will be featured throughout the season, one family at a time. Music students and members of the Vancouver Youth Symphony are on hand for each concert to help the kids get a handle on the instrument they choose to try. There is also the Composition Table, where kids can ’Äúwrite’Äù their own music’Äîand have it played by a member of the VSO! All instruments are generously provided by Tom Lee Music.

Kids’Äô Koncerts presents the very best in musical entertainment for children and families, with internationally-renowned children’Äôs entertainers joining the full Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. The series begins on October 11th with Platypus Theatre and Rhythm in Your Rubbish. On December 6th, the VSO welcomes Al Simmons for Festive Frivolity. Next up is Maestro Bramwell Tovey as the inimitable Inspector Tovey, investigating the instrument families in the orchestra. On April 18th, Classical Kids appears with one of their most popular shows, Vivaldi’Äôs Ring of Mystery. The series concludes on May 9th with Enchantment Theatre’Äôs amazing take on the tale of Scheherazade.
