Edmonton, AB ’Ķ In the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra’Äôs (ESO) Robbins Lighter Classics series opener, conductor Bob Bernhardt and Edmonton’Äôs finest musicians perform their Mozart favourites from the rich treasure trove of music by the genius from Salzburg. ESO Resident Conductor Lucas Waldin, Principal Clarinet Julianne Scott, Principal Harp Nora Bumanis, Principal Flute Elizabeth Koch, guest soprano Jolaine Kerley, guest pianist Michael Massey, and guest organist Jeremy Spurgeon are all featured artists with the orchestra at the Francis Winspear Centre for Music.

The celebratory program, all encompassing the most famous child prodigy in the history of western music, will include movements and selections from one of the most instantly recognizable works in all of music, Eine kleine Nachtmusik, and one of Mozart’Äôs finest operas, The Marriage of Figaro. Julianne Scott solos in the last movement of the composer’Äôs final concerto, Clarinet Concerto in A major, Nora Bumanis and Elizabeth Koch duet in the breezy Concerto for Flute and Hap in C major, Jolaine Kerley sings the brilliant ’ÄúAlleluia’Äù from Exsultate, jubilate, Michael Massey plays a movement from the fascinating Piano Concerto in G major, and Jeremy Spurgeon performs the Epistle Sonata in C major on the striking Davis Concert Organ.
