Founder of Cavalia and former Cirque du Soleil executive named to
National Arts Centre Board of Trustees
(Ottawa, Canada) ’Äì The Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, has announced the appointment of Normand Latourelle as vice’Äëchair of the National Arts Centre’Äôs board of trustees.
’ÄúI am pleased that Mr. Latourelle has agreed to serve on the Board of Trustees,’Äù said Minister Moore. ’ÄúHe is one of Canada’Äôs leading innovators in performing arts, and his creativity and leadership have enhanced Canada’Äôs presence on the international stage. I have no doubt that he will be a great asset to the National Arts Centre Board of Trustees.’Äù
Mr. Latourelle is the president and founder of the renowned multimedia equestrian show ’ÄúCavalia,’Äù which attracts millions of spectators around the world. He was the executive vice’Äëpresident and director general of Cirque du Soleil.

Mr. Latourelle has also created major productions, including the sound and light show on Parliament Hill and the Lˆ©gendes Fantastiques production in Drummondville, which has been presented for the last ten years.
