Susanne will be replacing tenor Terence Mierau, who was originally scheduled to perform Benjamin Britten’Äôs Les Illuminations. Mierau is unable to perform due to health reasons.
’ÄúI am simply thrilled to be performing the Beethoven Violin Concerto with Maestro Bernhard Gueller and Symphony Nova
’ÄúI have a deep personal connection with this concerto... because the moment I was born, my father (who has been my violin teacher since I was four years old) was performing this concerto with the Shanghai Symphony! He told me he felt something miraculous happening while playing the second movement, and it turns out... that is exactly when I was born! So it is very special for me to share this magical and transcendent music with my favourite musicians in
Susanne’Äôs playing has been praised as ’Äústrangely strong yet delicate; her technique near flawless’Äù (The Strad), and ’Äúabsolutely phenomenal’Äù (Lord Yehudi Menuhin). She performs on a $3 million 1729 Guarneri violin, on a three-year loan from the instrument bank of the Canada Council for the Arts.

The orchestra will also perform Dvo‰ôˆ°k’Äôs melodic Wind Serenade and Beethoven’Äôs elegant Symphony no. 4.
