Legendary Canadian singer-songwriter to play Canon Theatre

Toronto ’Äì Singer, songwriter and powerhouse performer k.d. lang will close the 23rd edition of the TD Canada Trust Toronto Jazz Festival on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Canon Theatre. Tickets are on sale Friday, February 6.

From straight up country artist to iconic pop songstress with forays into pop, jazz and show tunes along the way, lang has been a musical force to be reckoned with over the last 25 years. With a dedicated cult following and considerable vocal talents, lang has always challenged conventional thought and crossed genres in music, carving a broad niche for an artist who simply defies categorization.

Watershed, which debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 last February, marks lang's 10th studio album and her first time assuming the role of sole producer in addition to singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. A multiple Juno and Grammy award winner, do not miss one of Canada's greatest songwriters and voices this summer.
