Imago Theatre, winner of last season's MECCA and AQCT Best English Production award for The Baroness and the Pig, is thrilled to present the French language translation of its acclaimed hit Bye Bye Baby.
Bye Bye Baby follows an adopted woman's journey through the labyrinth of Quebec's adoption laws towards the discovery of her birth mother. As she struggles to make sense of her own life and identity, her search is made all the more pivotal by the arrival of her first child. With Nathalie Claude, Martine-Marie Lalande, Dominique Leduc, Mathilde Monnard and Felicia Shulman.
Bye Bye Baby returns to the Monument-National's Studio Hydro-Quˆ©bec where it first premiered in November 2004 to critical and public acclaim. After a remount as part of Centaur Theatre's 2005-06 season, the buzz from critics, the theatre community and the general public surrounding the original English play was such that a French translation became inevitable. Recast, redesigned and re-imagined, this is a rare occasion to see a local English show reinvent itself in quest of new horizons.
Rares sont les productions montrˆ©alaises d'expression anglaise de cette tenue.
Il serait triste que le secret de cette rˆ©ussite demeure trop bien gardˆ©.- Hervˆ© Guay, Le Devoir, 5 mai 2006
