Montral, le 17 juin 2008 Cet t, lOrchestre de chambre I Musici de Montral propose un bouquet de concerts en plein air. Clbrant son 25e anniversaire, I Musici convie les Montralais participer ses activits. Trois concerts gratuits prsents la brunante ou en aprs-midi au Thtre de Verdure ainsi quau Vieux-Port de Montral. Concert-projection de tableaux dansants ou conte musical anim par un magicien : un pur ravissement pour les mlomanes petits et grands. Un programme estival vivifiant concoct par le chef dorchestre Yuli Turovsky.

Premire escale musicale : Quais du Vieux-Port. Dpart le samedi 5 juillet
20 h 30. Embarquement pour la Grce, la Transylvanie et la Roumanie. Un rpertoire sabreuvant aux mlodies et aux danses traditionnelles de lEurope centrale. Cette premire partie du programme runira notamment les Danses populaires roumaines de Bartk. Un menu festif et anim pour ce temps des cigales! I Musici interprtera galement avec sa fougue habituelle les Tableaux dune exposition. Les Montralais auront le bonheur de voir ou de revoir une uvre-phare du rpertoire de lOrchestre. Aprs avoir t chaudement applaudis lors de tournes amricaines et canadiennes, les Tableaux dune exposition seront prsents pour la premire fois sous un ciel urbain. Redcouvrez la musique de Moussorgski accompagne dun film danimation ralis partir des toiles de Natasha Turovsky. Et pour une finale en apothose, les derniers coups darchet dI Musici cderont la place aux feux dartifices du Vieux-Port de Montral.
Le Grimoire magique
Pour les jeunes, un concert conu spcialement pour eux : suspense, magie et plaisirs garantis! Dparts prvus : dimanche 6 juillet 14 h et 15 h 30. Victime de sa propre magie, le clbre prestidigitateur Robert-Houdin disparat du XIXe sicle. Regagnera-t-il son poque par lentremise de la musique ou plutt grce son grimoire enchant? Anim par le magicien Pat Gueller, ce dlicieux concert saura certainement satisfaire son jeune auditoire. Prsent pour la premire fois Montral, ce conte musical est une cration originale de Suzanne De Serres, auteure et musicienne. Direction musicale : Yuli Turovsky.
Tableaux dune exposition de Moussorgski
Rencontre sublime sous les toiles : au Thtre de Verdure, dimanche 27 juillet 20 h 30. Les Tableaux dune Exposition de lOrchestre I Musici ont fait lobjet de critiques fort logieuses. Crs en 1874, les Tableaux dune exposition de Moussorgski ont t inspirs des toiles de Victor Hartmann; des uvres picturales aujourdhui perdues la suite des nombreuses rvolutions et guerres qui cumrent la Russie. Afin de combler cette absence picturale, maestro Turovsky demanda sa fille Natasha, peintre et soliste au sein de lOrchestre, de recrer de nouveau lunivers des toiles de Hartmann. Le rsultat : des
tableaux pour les oreilles et de la musique pour les yeux . Cres par Natasha Turovsky, Yuli Turovsky et lartiste numrique Gal Hollard, ces 15
peintures chorgraphiques interpellent deux formes dart : la peinture et la musique. voquant un univers onirique, les tableaux dansants de Natasha Turovsky empruntent aux contes et lgendes russes gnome grotesque, sorcire volante et autres Baba-Yaga, cabane sur patte de poule. Cratrice de plus dune centaine duvres picturales, Natasha Turovsky a galement produit des dcors dopra et des toiles sinspirant des cycles musicaux de Mahler. Depuis 1995, elle expose dans les grands centres urbains partout travers le monde : Barcelone, Cleveland, Boston, New York, Hong-Kong, etc.

Montral, June 17, 2008 This summer lOrchestre de chambre I Musici de Montral is offering a number of outdoor concerts for your pleasure. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, I Musici invites Montrealers to come and participate. Three free concerts will be presented at the Thtre de Verdure and the Old Port. From the projection of Choreographed Paintings to a musical story complete with a magician, there is summer happiness guaranteed to young and old alike programs concocted by conductor Yuli Turovsky for your summer enjoyment!

Choreographed Pictures at an Exhibition (Excerpt)
The first musical stop : on the quays of the Old Port. Departure on July 5 at 8:30 pm. Boarding for Greece, Transylvania and Romania. A repertoire that calls on the traditional dances and melodies of central Europe. The first part of the program will bring together the Popular Romanian Dances by Bartok. A festive and lively atmosphere to accompany the sound of the cicadas. I Musici will also play with its habitual energy the Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky a chance to see one of the most innovative works in the repertoire of the orchestra. After receiving standing ovations during the I Musici de Montrals American and Canadian tours, the Choreographed Paintings will be presented for the first time under the stars. Rediscover Moussorgskys music with an animated movie, inspired from Natasha Turovskys fabulous paintings. And as a finale, the last notes of I Musicis music will give way to the dazzling Old Port fireworks display.
The wizards book of spells
For the young, a special concert conceived specially for them: suspense, magic and fun guaranteed! Departure time: July 6 at 2 pm and 3:30 pm. Victim of his own magic, the celebrated magician Robert-Houdin disappears in the 19th century. Presented by magician Pat Gueller, this charming concert will certainly amuse a young audience. Presented for the first time in Montreal, this musical story is an original creation of writer and musician Suzanne De Serres.
Choreographed Paintings at an Exhibition
A sublime meeting under the stars: at the Thtre de Verdure, Sunday, July 27 at 8:30 pm. The Choreographed Paintings with the lOrchestre de chambre I Musici has received rave reviews. Created in 1874, Pictures at an Exhibition by Moussorgsky, was inspired by the paintings of Victor Hartmann pictures which are lost to us today after numerous wars and revolutions that stormed through Russia. In order to replace this pictorial absence, Maestro Turovsky asked his daughter, Natasha a painter and violinist in I Musici to recreate the universe of these paintings by Hartmann. The result: the Choreographed Paintings of Natasha Turovsky brilliantly realised by the computer animation of Gal Hollard.
Created by Natasha Turovsky, Yuli Turovsky and the digital artist Gal Hollard, those 15 Choreographed Paintings are calling for two art forms : music and paintings. Evoking a universe of dreams, those paintings created by Natasha Turovsky draws from Russian stories and legends a grotesque gnome, a flying witch and others like Baba-Yaga and a hut on a fowls legs. Natasha Turovsky has produced hundreds of paintings and monotypes, along with several opera sets and series of paintings made after such musical cycles as Song of the Earth by Mahler. Since 1995 she has had more than thirty solo and group exhibitions in Barcelona, Cleveland, Boston, New York, Hong-Kong, etc.
